Coupons in every day life!

A few weeks ago my son got a lil itchy with me at the movie theater because I took coupons. Now I know what you are going to say really coupons for that? Our schools in the area sell these fundraiser entertainment coupon books. In them are coupons for a local movie theater. For each movie ticket I purchased for both my kids I got a free small drink with the coupon. And if I bought a small bag of popcorn for myself I got a free pop as well. My daughter will not eat popcorn so the one bag for my son and I is plenty. I walked away with three small drinks and a bag of popcorn for $3.75! Then we went to the movies last weekend and I had signed up for their reel card online. I it is a savings card that is free you save money on movie and conession purchases plus earn points for free things like tickets and concessions. Each time I use that card I can get $3.00 off each movie ticket and also $3.50 off their combos. Extra savings.

I look at these entertainment coupon books just like any other coupon. I used one in a week for free pizza delivery with a minimum ten dollar order which saved me five dollars. I used another to buy my mom and I lunch for a buy one get one free entree. I also used my discount card or other wise known as key tag savings card at my local gas station grocery store. By shopping at this grocery store I earn fuel points for their gas station. That week I had forty cents off a gallon. So if you add that week up five dollars for the delivery fee, eight dollars from the fuel points savings and ten dollars for the lunch I saved a total of twenty three dollars that week using coupons on things I buy or use every day. In one month that is more than eighty dollars and in once year that is a savings of nine hundred plus dollars! See the small things do add up!

Pets need food too so why not...

I have an abundance of cat and dog food and treats coupons and I have ZERO PETS. I heard a bit about this at Missy Eby class but tonight's epoisode of extreme couponing rang true to me. We have a local animal shelter here that is always struggling for food for their animals. We also have a lot of food pantry's and a point Missy Eby made was if the family is struggling for food chances are so are the pets. With this in though I am going to sort through the probably three hundred plus pet coupons I have and keep  my eye out the next few shopping trips I make for low priced or even FREE dog or cat stuff and pick a few up and then once I have a decent amoutn accumulated I will donate them to the animal shelter.

Today's trip was great at Kroger my first order was $303.93 w/card $269.92 final price with coupons $101.91 for a total savings of $202.02!!! Second order $26.92 after card $21.02 final cost with coupons $4.19!!!!! Total for both transactions $324.95 final paid with card and coupons and $106.10 for a total savings today of $218.25!!! I only went over my budget by $6.10! Not bad for shopping for five people!

I am getting better at this....

It seems I am finding my nitch with this couponing. It is helping my family & I so much. I am able to provide food, personal needs, cleaning supplies, toiletries and more for myself, my two children, my mother and grandmother which means I am basically supplying three households. Most trasnactions range from $250 - $350 which I can on the average get between $70.00 - $100.00.
I do not spend a lot of time printing coupons online The ink is rather pricey. Instead I use other ways such as trading, buying whole inserts or pre clipped coupons from various sites. I also started a coupon group in my hometown. I also met one of the nicest people Missy Eby she was on the TLC show Extreme Couponing. I took one of her classes at Hopevale church here in town and I cannot express how much she helped me.
I plan on another shopping trip saturday.....
